An online workshop exploring the use of holistic healing modalities for creative expression.

(Limited spots available) Join us on Thursday 30th November at 6pm (UK time) for an online workshop exploring the use of non-western holistic healing modalities for personal development and creative expression.

Hosted by artist and educator, Hira Butt, the online workshop will give attendees the opportunity to develop personal rituals to gain a more profound connection with the present moment through past memories and guided exercises.

Through the exploration of non-western approaches to care, attendees can expect to learn how incorporating intentional practices into daily life can create a sacred space for healing, reflection, and the cultivation of a deeper understanding of self.

Online Workshops are held monthly as part of Commun People, a programme that advocates for emerging BIPOC voices to participate in the Arts while strengthening their skills and widening their employment opportunities. By encouraging critical discourse, peer mentoring, practical and creative development, the programme will support BIPOC voices to develop their practice and overcome often exclusionary barriers to initiating or sustaining a career in the Arts.

Hira Butt, a British Pakistani artist based in Birmingham, completed her Bachelor in Fine Arts in 2009 and earned her Master's in Fine Arts in 2018, winning the Master Degree Prize in Medium Practice at Birmingham City University. Through her practice, Butt explores the power of repetitive prayers and thoughts. She was awarded DYCP for her project Tasbih, an extension of her international online workshop. Butt has participated in various exhibitions, including performances at the Midland Art Centre and a residency with COMMUN. Notable exhibitions also include the Art Trail at Ikon-Selfridges, a solo show at Stryx, and participation in the Coventry Biennial.
